Services provided by the Mandurah Centre
Introduction:
The Mandurah centre is a welcoming centre and staff is dedicated to promoting the personal independence and social wellbeing of their members, our staff is always available if needed .Our premises include a wood working shed and a gym that is for members use with our trained staff. We also have a lovely community garden and vegetable patch that the members contribute to. The centre has computers with the internet available and printing facilities for your own use, in our games room we have a pool table for use and we have regular pool competitions. We provide a nutritious morning tea for our members and lovely homemade style lunches are available daily for a fee of $3.00. We also have tea and coffee for 50 cents and a variety of cool drinks for $1.00.
Centre activities
Art and craft group
The centre provides a place where you can let your creativity come out we have an Art & Craft group that runs every Tuesday and the members have created some great things to be used around the home or something useful for themselves some of these activities have been candle making jewelry making ;and scented draw liners and tie dying. We like to get our members ideas on what they would like to make .We also like to experiment with canvas and different paint techniques. Clay Moulding will also be coming soon.
Sewing group
The sewing group is a great place for beginners to learn .The members have created some useful items like: heat packs; cushions, door stops; plastic bag holders. We have a range of different materials and texture’s available and has many projects coming up in the sewing group. The sewing group is held on a Wednesday and is frequented by a dedicated group of member’s.
Prompt
Peter offers remedial massage therapy to our members for a cost of $3.00 .Peter’s service’s are very much appreciated by the members and find the massage very relaxing. Peter comes to our centre’s every fortnight.
Annual camp
June O Connor centre offers an adventurous fun camp once a year camp to its members for a low cost. These camps have been very successful in the past with the members really enjoying themselves and getting to join in some fun activities helping them with their social wellbeing.
