Services Provided by the Fremantle June O’Connor Centre
Healthy Lunches: are provided for $3.50 prepared by staff. A suggestion form is displayed in the kitchen for members to write down ideas on what they would like to have for meals at Fremantle. Staff encourages its members to eat healthy and exercise regularly. The meals are cheap, members upon request can receive a copy of the recipe of the day.
In House Activities: Building friendships and socialising play an imperative role by offering in house activities to our members of the June O’Connor Centres. Satisfaction is gained by learning new skills and confidence grows when they succeed. Encouragement and guidance is always given by staff which has positive results in increasing numbers each week. In house activities include: Annual Pool Competitions, outdoor sport days, Table Tennis Competitions, Sewing Groups, Scrap booking, Art & Craft groups, Cooking lessons, in house DVD afternoons, Morning teas, and many more group activities are enjoyed by all the members.
Recreational Outings: With the focus of social integration in mind we have been running a bi-monthly restaurant and movies outing. The members are enjoying not only each others company but the company of Fremantle staff. Costing is affordable for our members and with the positive support of numbers this programme continues to run. We have enjoyed many outings such as visiting Abingdon Miniature Village in Mandurah, Whale Watching over Rottnest, Royal Show, Rottnest Island day trip, June O’Connor’s birthday party at the Palms in Subiaco, Perth Mint, and JOC Mandurah open day, museums and art gallery tours.
Hairdressing: Jo Van-Lierop has styled our members with her expertise in hairdressing. The Members love their new hair styles every time Jo graces our centre. The cost is $3 per person which is a significant saving. The money Jo makes from the haircuts is kindly donated back into the centre, thank you to Jo for providing this valuable service
